speeding ahead – driving the promotion of 3 european titles at tribeca

The hybrid Tribeca Film Festival (5 – 16 June 2024) is one important remaining festival in EFP’s (European Film Promotion) busy annual calendar of events at which the newest European films are being promotionally boosted to countries outside of Europe via its financial tool, Film Sales Support (FSS).

A total of €12,600 in FSS grants will be going towards custom-made promotion campaigns of 3 films from Europe undertaken by world sales companies focusing on sales to the US and further overseas countries. The films are lucky to be screening in Tribeca’s International Narrative Competition.

MK2’s Samia by German director Yasemin Şamdereli (Italy, Germany, Belgum, Sweden / MK2) is celebrating its world premiere at the festival, a film whose main female protagonist defies taboos by racing through Mogadishu, brandishing women’s rights and a fight for freedom. To guarantee the widest possible exposure, Samia will also be shown online at Tribeca for buyers after the official screening.

Under the Grey Sky by Mara Tamkovich (Poland / Loco Films), inspired by the real-life story of a young Belarusian journalist, will have its North American premiere in New York and Hunters on a White Field (Jakt) by Sarah Gyllenstierne (Sweden / LevelK), a mysterious suspense drama, its international premiere.

LevelK has the director and producer participate onsite and is accompanying the film by attending online and by being visible on social media during the festival to actively conduct business with buyers.

The FSS applications were confirmed by Cinecittà, The Polish Film Institute and the Swedish Film Institute.
