driving european film exports at marché du film and hot docs

07.05.26 EFP European Film Promotion has allocated more than €74,300 in grants to bolster the digital promotion campaigns for a record-breaking number of 45 European films at the Marché du Film in Cannes. Through its long-standing Film Sales Support (FSS) programme, 27 world sales companies are benefitting from a financial boost, enabling them to enhance and customize their marketing strategies for sales to countries outside of Europe. This year’s vast selection of supported finished and unfinished films includes 13 titles directed or co-directed by women and 15 films depicting diversity and inclusion.

06.05.26 European Film Promotion (EFP) kicks off the 2026 edition of its initiative EUROPE! VOICES OF WOMEN + IN FILM at the Sydney Film Festival (3–14 June), ahead of further stops in Busan and Rio de Janeiro later this year. Dedicated to spotlighting European films by women and genderqueer filmmakers, this year’s Sydney selection brings together six distinctive works by emerging and established directors, united by themes of identity, longing, family ties and resilience.
