in search of europe's talented up-and-coming international producers for the 26th cannes edition of producers on the move

Well-known PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE by European Film Promotion (EFP) is again opening its doors to 20 producers from 20 different European countries during the 78th Cannes Film Festival (13 – 24 May).

Producers are nominated by their respective national film promotion institutes, members of EFP, and selected via an intricate point system. Criteria include the requirement for the producers to have had experience with at least one international co-production, the selection of their films at major international film festivals or distribution outside the film’s (co-)production country(ies).

The hybrid PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE programme consists of preparatory online meetings on three consecutive days, 28 – 30 April, prior to the festival and subsequent networking events on site.

Once the producers have successfully passed the selection process, they embark on a series of activities, such as project pitchings, 1:1 meetings, special case studies as well as social events, accompanied by an extensive promotion campaign which includes online presentations and being featured in the international trades.

Over the past 25 years, 526 producers from across Europe have been given the opportunity to take part in PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE in Cannes. The well-established initiative strives to connect young enterprising European producers with potential co-production partners and to bolster essential industry networking. At the same time, it provides a visible platform for a coming generation of European filmmakers at one of the most important film festivals.

Producers interested in participating in PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE 2025 should contact their national film promotion institutes.

PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE is financially backed by the European Union’s Creative Europe – Media Programme, Eurimages, as well as European national film promotion institutes, EFP’s member organisations.
