producers on the move 2026: ready to connect in cannes

Following three days of successful online meetings, EFP European Film Promotion welcomes the 20 emerging European producers and this year’s guest producer from Ukraine of the 27th edition of PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE to Cannes for the on-site part of the programme.

During the Cannes Film Festival, the selected producers will continue building international connections through a focused series of project meetings, industry sessions and networking opportunities.

A special focus of this year’s Cannes programme is the exchange with international festival programmers. In a “Meet the Festivals” session, representatives of the Sundance Film Festival will share insights into festival strategies, programming perspectives and opportunities for European producers to connect with the North American festival landscape.

Further programme highlights include one-to-one project meetings, a session on working with ARTE, round tables with Eurimages, and a “Meet the Streamers” format with representatives from MUBI and Netflix.

The Cannes programme will conclude with an Alumni Cocktail & Farewell Drinks, bringing together this year’s participants with former Producers on the Move from across Europe and celebrating the international network that has grown around the initiative since its launch in 2000.
