Following an intensive online preparatory programme featuring pitching training and industry meetings, EFP European Film Promotion and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) welcome this year’s emerging directors selected for EFP FUTURE FRAMES.
Over the coming days, the ten talents will present their films to industry professionals, press and festival audiences, while also taking part in a tailor-made industry programme that includes a masterclass with Christos Nikou.
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting emerging creative talent, Allwyn will once again award one director from this year's EFP FUTURE FRAMES selection a one-month scholarship in Los Angeles, with the recipient chosen by a jury of US talent agents from Range Media Partners and United Talent Agency.
Beyond this year's selection, several alumni of previous EFP FUTURE FRAMES editions will also be present at the festival with completed films, project pitches, or as participants in the industry programme. Among them are Rosa Friedrich (Austria) and Martina Buchelová (Slovak Republic), whose feature films My Friend the Porno Star and Lover, Not a Fighter will celebrate their world premieres in the Proxima Competition. The festival programme also includes Christian Avilés' (Spain) short film Stallion and a Crystal Ball, screening in the Imagina section.
EFP FUTURE FRAMES – Generation NEXT of European Cinema, held in collaboration with Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, is made possible thanks to the support of Creative Europe – MEDIA, Allwyn, and the participating national film promotion institutes, EFP’s member organisations: Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Czech Film Center, Finnish Film Foundation, Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales / ICAA, Lithuanian Film Centre, SEE NL, Slovenian Film Centre, Swedish Film Institute, SWISS FILMS and Unifrance.
