To heighten the visibility of European films at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), EFP is awarding Film Sales Support (FSS) grants to seven world sales companies from Europe for an enhanced promotion of 13 European films.
Recipients of funding include Kinology, marketing the directorial debut, The Girl in the Snow (France, post-production) by French video artist and stage director Louise Hémon, Le Pacte, presenting Not All Men, But... by Michel Leclerc (France), Loco Films, promoting The Pianist’s Choice by Jacques Otmezguine (France) and Reel Suspects selling the Belgian film, On the Edge by Sophie Muselle and Guérin van de Vorst.
Support was also allocated to Totem Films, which is bringing to Hong Kong Anna Roller’s second feature, Allegro Pastell (Germany, post-production), as well as Nastia Korkia’s debut feature, Short Summer. The latter is Totem Films’ first official co-production with Germany and is currently in post-production.
TrustNordisk will promote five Scandinavian films to Asian buyers, including the Danish films Home Sweet Home by Frelle Petersen and Sauna by Mathias Broe, as well as the Norwegian animation Caterella by Lise Mare Gamlem.
German sales company Studio 100 Film, best known for its exceptional family films, is attending FILMART for the first time with EFP. As a recipient of Film Sales Support, it will boost promotional campaigns for the animated films North by Bente Lohne (Norway) and Miss Moxy by Vincent Bal & Wip Vernooij (The Netherlands, Belgium) – both in post-production.
Film Sales Support (FSS) boosts sales to countries outside of Europe by supporting promotional measures such as market screenings, the creation of high-quality promo reels, advertisements in international trades and digital approaches. To this end, a total of 20.000 EUR has been reserved for the production of distinctive marketing material to prominently position European films at the FILMART in order to capture the attention of buyers in an increasingly competitive market.
