congratulation to 45 efp alumnis presenting their films at this year’s Berlinale

EFP (European Film Promotion) and its member organisations are delighted to announce that 45 participants of EFP’s talent platforms EUROPEAN SHOOTING STARS and PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE (PoM) will be presenting a total of 35 films in the various sections of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival.

Irish Shooting Star of 2022, Clare Dunne appears in this year's opening film Small Things Like These while her French colleague Anamaria Vartolomei (Shooting Star 2022) stars in Bruno Dumont’s Competition entry The Empire, co-produced by Fabrizio Mosca (PoM 2006, Italy).The Austrian highly acclaimed actresses and former Shooting Stars of 2001 and 2003, Birgit Minichmayr and Maria Hofstätter, can be seen together on screen in Andrea Gets a Divorce by Josef Hader, which runs in the Panorama section. Both also appear in further films: Maria Hofstätter in the Austrian-German co-production The Devil’s Bath by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (Competition), co-produced by Bettina Brokemper (PoM 2006, Germany) and Birgit Minichmayr in Sleeping with a Tiger by Anja Salomonowitz (Forum).

Levin Akin’s Panorama opening film Crossing was produced by Katja Adomeit (PoM 2015, Denmark) alongside her colleague Charlotta Denward (PoM 2004, Sweden). The Italian series Supersex by Francesca Manieri, Matteo Rovere and Francesco Carrozzini (Berlinale Special) brings together the Italian Shooting Stars of 2017 and 2007 Alessandro Borghi and Jasmine Trinca, who is part of this year's International Jury.

The competition entry Langue Étrangère by Claire Burger not only stars famous German actress and former Shooting Star Nina Hoss, the film will be also the topic of a panel at the Actors Industry Days as part of this year's European Shooting Stars programme (Saturday, 17th February, 4.30 pm) and will be shown after the festive European Shooting Stars awards ceremony on Monday, 19th February.
