European Film Promotion (EFP) and Unifrance are delighted to welcome 29 world sales companies from six European countries who are presenting their newest films from Europe at one of Asia’s most important film markets which runs from 11 to 14 March 2024.
Around 140 films from throughout Europe are available for multiple territories in Asia promoted by 29 sales agents, such as from Charades, Filmax, Luxbox, Sola Media, france tv distribution, newen connect, goodfellas and Fandango, to name a few.
Three of the participating sales companies are bringing to the FILMART films which were awarded at this year‘s Berlinale, the Silver Bear Jury Prize winner, The Empire by Bruno Dumont (Memento International), the triple award-winning Norwegian Panorama film, Sex by Dag Johan Haugerud (CICAE Art Cinema Award, Label Europe Cinemas, Prize of the Ecumenical Jury (m-appeal) and the German debut feature film Ivo by Eva Trobisch from Encounters (Heiner Carow Prize) (Loco Films).
With Anatomy of a Fall (mk2 films) and Four Daughters (The Party Film Sales) two Oscar nominees are represented at EFP’s booth.

To increase the visibility of European films at one of the biggest film markets in Asia and to boost sales to the region, EFP is awarding Film Sales Support (FSS) to 10 European films. FSS backs international promotion campaigns to countries outside of Europe.
Recipients of funding are Kinology, bringing along two films in post-production, French-German coproduction Disappearance by Kirill Serebrennikov as well as Our Wildest Days by Vassilis Kekatos (France, Greece), Picture Tree International presenting the Danish film Unsinkable by Christian Andersen and Grand Finale by Sigurjón Kjartansson from Iceland, WTFilms campaigning for Schlitter by Pierre Mouchet (France), TrustNordisk who are marketing five films, amongst them The Artic Convoy by Henrik M. Dahlsbakken from Norway.

The EUROPE! HUB at FILMART in Hong Kong is supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union with substantial backing from the EFP members Unifrance and further support from German Films (offering distribution support) and ICAA – Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (Spain). FILMART is one of the most important audiovisual trade fair in Hong Kong in spring and a key destination for the export of European films.
