EFP (European Film Promotion) is expanding its marketing support scheme, Film Sales Support (FSS) to embrace the promotion of European films screening at the Fantastic Fest (19 – 26 September) in Austin, the largest genre film festival in the US.
The FSS financial incentives exceeding €9,000 for beneficiary sales entities, Best Friend Forever, Kinology and WT Films, bolster the international sales potential of genre films. They are helping, for example, with pre-festival press screenings to initiate a wider coverage for the films at an early stage, with sophisticated social media approaches and the development of special film-related goodies and gadgets.
Supported titles include Heads or Fails (Belgium, France / Best Friend Forever) - showing in the festival’s side-bar, Burnt Ends - the new film by duo Lenny Guit & Harpo Guit who directed Mother Schmuckers in 2021 -, Dragon Dilatation by Bertrand Mandico (France / Kinology), previously performing at the Locarno Film Festival and world premiere, Else by Thibault Emin (France, Belgium / WT Films), screening in Next Wave.
FSS for the films have been confirmed by Unifrance and Wallonie Bruxelles Images.
FSS is financially backed by Creative Europe MEDIA of the European Union since 2004. FSS offers grants to European world sales companies for promotion and marketing campaigns with the goal to advance the export of films from Europe to countries outside of Europe at international film festivals and markets.
