Talent and spirit keep travelling across Europe: Earlier this year, ten emerging directors from across Europe were given the opportunity to present their work at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) as part of EFP's FUTURE FRAMES programme. Five of them will now gain further exposure at the Seville European Film Festival (6–14 November 2026).

For the third year, the programme will be part of the renowned Seville European Film Festival, once again highlighting new voices in European cinema and bringing their work to international audiences. Launched at KVIFF in 2015, FUTURE FRAMES has become a springboard for emerging European directors, many of whom have since gone on to present their films at major international festivals and build successful careers in the industry. The collaboration with Seville expands the programme's reach to Southern Europe, connecting fresh voices in European cinema with Spanish audiences and industry professionals.

Nora Goldstein, Programme Director FUTURE FRAMES at EFP: “It’s a real pleasure to be back in Seville with five films this year. We are especially happy to see how our partnership with the Seville European Film Festival has grown. It means a lot to us to give these talented young filmmakers the chance to share their stories with Spanish audiences and make new connections along the way.”

At the Seville European Film Festival, the following five directors and their films will be presented:

Helmi Donner (Finland, The Lightning Rod), Arnas Balčiūnas (Lithuania, Past the Hill of Napoleon’s Hat), Júlia Coldwell Serra (Spain, Nobody Barks), Marie Lukáčová (Czech Republic, Orla) and Teilo Quillard (France, Zampano).

EFP FUTURE FRAMES is made possible thanks to the support of Creative Europe – the MEDIA Programme of the European Union as well as the participating national film promotion institutes, EFP's member organisations.
