five former producers on the move are waiting in the wings to meet their latin american and european peers at the san sebastian international film festival

As part of its partnerships with several co-production markets at international festivals, European Film Promotion (EFP) is pleased to draw on a large alumni network of one of its flagship programmes, PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE. Five producers and former participants have been selected to participate in this year‘s European-LatinAmerican Co-Production Forum which runs from 23 to 25 September at the 72nd edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival (20 – 28 September 2024).

The five former PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE, attendees from 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2019, are looking forward to networking, meeting new talent, exchanging ideas for projects and pursuing international collaborations and co-productions with a focus on Latin America. The selected producers are from Italy, Emanuele Nespeca (Solaria Film), from Spain, Carles Torras (Zabriskie Films), from Georgia, Vladimer Katcharava (20 Steps Productions), from Ireland, Katie Holly (Keeper Pictures) and from Poland, Małgorzata Staroń (StaronFilm)

The cooperation between EFP and the San Sebastian International Film Festival exists since the launch of the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum in 2012. A total of almost 60 former Producers on the Move from 25 different European countries have since taken part.

The Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum is an initiative of the San Sebastian International Film Festival’s Industry Department that aims to promote the development of film projects between Europe and Latin America and strengthen international co-production and distribution networks.
